With the development of industry, the level of mechanization is getting higher and higher, and the machinery used by major companies is increasing. Many devices have blowers, such as printing presses. In printing presses, the suction of the side channel blowers is needed to fix the paper, which avoids the phenomenon that the paper is displaced during the work. This makes printing easy and efficient. Also high. In addition to this, the side channel blower has many other functions that will help us in many aspects of production and life, so installing a side channel blower is crucial and will solve many problems for you. This article will explain how to install the side.

This article contains the following:

  • Installation process

  • Daily maintenance

  • Conclusion

1. Installation process

1) Before the side channel blower is installed

Disconnect electrical power at the circuit breaker or fuse box before installing this product.

  • Install the blower in a location where it will not come into contact with water or     other liquids.

  • Install the blower in a location protected from the weather.

  • Electrically ground the blower.

If you do not follow these instructions, it may result in death, fire or electric shock.

2) When the side channel blower is installed

  • It is worth noting that the correct installation is your responsibility.

  • Make sure you have the proper installation conditions and that installation clearances do not block air flow.

  • Blocking air flow over the blower in any way can cause the product to overheat.

  • The blower must be installed with the proper sized inlet filter, gauge and relief valve to protect the product from contaminants and over-heating.

3) After the side channel blower is installed

i. Verify the blower is rotating in the direction indicated by the arrow on the silencer. (The inlet and outlet silencer are marked with an arrow on all the models.)

ii. Remove any foreign material (burrs, chips, welding drops, slag, pipe cuttings, excess sealant, sand or lime)

iii. from plumbing.

iv. Verify the motor is securely mounted and proper blower rotation before connecting to plumbing. The inlet and outlet port are not designed to support the plumbing without proper supporting elements.

v. Remove safety rubber plugs from the inlet and outlet ports. Connect the plumbing with properly sized fittings.

vi. Use a relief valve to discharge excess air beyond the preset level on pressure applications. Use a vacuum relief valve to draw in excess air when preset vacuum level is achieved.

vii. Install an intake filter to prevent foreign material from entering the blower. In applications where there is high humidity or liquids being used in the process, install a moisture separator with a drain valve.

2. Daily maintenance

1) Maintenance and precautions:

These blowers require little routine maintenance because lubrication is not required. If a suitable suction filter is installed in the system, the blower will provide trouble-free performance even if it is continuously used. After long-term use, the suction filter can be cleaned occasionally.

  • Check:

When delayed, the impeller rotates freely. Clean the suction filter regularly. Air suction pipe or exhaust pipe for blocking dust.

  • Overhauling:

When removing the blower for failure or maintenance, the following procedure shall be followed:

1) Turn off the power supply of blower motor.

2) Disconnect the blower from the system.

3) Remove the silencer.

4) Unscrew the assembly bolts and remove the blower.

Blower is divided into bottom shell and motor with impeller and top shell. Keep the blower up and remove the impeller by unscrewing the locking bolt. Remove burrs (if any) and clean parts.

  • Reassembly:

1) Install the impeller on the motor shaft and tighten the locking bolt with the locking washer.

2) Rotate the impeller by hand for free rotation.

3) Install the bottom housing on the top housing and ensure free rotation again.

4) Install silencer and conduct trial operation.

Do not hammer or machine any part of the blower.

2) Trouble shooting & test and remedy:

  • Motor Overload:

1) Check the air gap of the blower without disassembling the motor.

2) Run the motor separately after disassembly and check the current, voltage and connection.

l Abnornal  Sound:

1) Check the free rotation of the blower.

2) Remove the blower and check whether there is any foreign matter in the blower.

3) Check the motor bearing.

  • Jammed:

Remove the blower and check the shaft for rotational resistance, bearing wear, friction burrs/foreign matter.

3. Conclusion

Side channel blowers are not only critical in the printing industry, but are also used in many locations. It has its presence in many industries and can be said to be everywhere in our lives.
